Casual Conversations

This was a last minute idea I had for a sample reel on my youtube channel. The point of the video was to illustrate a clear and concise message and have a little fun with it. The first actor that appears is Mathis Schmidt who agreed to free style some dialog. The second actor that appears is Robert Keller who also agreed to help out with this project.

I also wanted to show off different editing cuts and different camera angles to show the diversity within my style of pre-production and post production. I was inspired about doing this project right after I watched "Death to Smoochy" when the scene with Robin Williams andEdward Norton, with the death threat phone call. I picked monochromatic in order to keep it very dull, that way the visuals would not distract you from the conversation.

The premise of the video is simple, two guys talking about the previous night. When all of a sudden it gets interrupted by the annoying friend that dials in. Then the two main characters decide to drop their third friends call leaving him hanging.

Spanish Lessons

I am currently taking a Multi-Communications class that assigns me to a new story each week. This particular week we were asked to answer a simple question. "Something you may not know about me". The assignment was supposed to stay underneath 2 minutes in length, and besides that, there really wasn't any rules to the project.

This is a true story, I used to take Spanish Lessons with my Friend Jose Irizar because a group of friends and I went on a trip to Mexico on last years spring break. This was to pay tribute to the lessons but more importantly have fun and go over the top with the material. My goal was to make the instructor laugh... Needless to say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Music Stories

A few weeks back I was assigned a project in my multimedia broadcasting class, to come up with a 2 minute story that had to be written/filmed/edited/and completed within 3 hours. I thought about the assignment as I walked around downtown San Francisco listing to my favorite playlist, when it came to me. I wanted to create a film explaining some of the key reasons why I listen to the different types of music, I wanted to explain this through storytelling. So I sat down, pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and I wrote out my entire audio track. With time being limited, I also wrote the different shots I wanted to execute, so I could hand the list off to a friend from class and he would know exactly what I was expecting. We shot the content in a half hour, which gave me roughly an hour and a half to edit the material in Final Cut Pro. This is the end result.
